I'm a Seattle-born Black and Native multidisciplinary artist unfolding one layer at a time. I've been involved with the arts all my life. Self-taught in visual art. All formal training has pertained to my music career, which ranges from gospel singing in local churches - where I got my start - to vocal jazz, to local bands and work at a major record label in Miami, FL.
I began publicly sharing my visual art in 2018 / 2019, and have been enriched by the beautiful community connections its brought. I hope you enjoy the art shared here.
Acrylic paint, soft pastels, and sometimes oil pastels on canvas and wood.
I'm drawn to used canvases and wood in my painting and etching (wood-burning), and I often incorporate upcycling in my jewelry-making.
The process of creating new life for a used thing is spiritual.
A reverence for the Higher One, higher love, higher things.
The richness of everyday Black existence.
